False claim: BMTC conductor did not slap minor

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: An inquiry by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) into an alleged report shared on social media accusing a bus conductor of slapping a minor, has found the claims were false.

On Friday, an Activist forum "Whitefield Rising '' on X, previously twitter, had posted a thread alleging that a BMTC conductor had slapped a student for asking for a ticket he paid for.

The BMTC who had assured to conduct an inquiry into the incident, scanned the CCTV footage after which it confirmed that the students travelling in the bus were not slapped by the bus conductor.

An official from BMTC confirmed that the inquiry took place, and the conductor was found innocent.

"We stopped the operation of the bus in which the incident is said to have occurred and checked its CCTV footage,” an official from BMTC said.
