Bee attack on group going for cremation, kills 1

Chamarajanagar, NT Bureau: Tragedy struck Kongarahalli village in Hanur taluk, claiming the life of one person and leaving 14 others injured in a bee attack.

The deceased has been identified as Chennappa, aged 60, while those injured have been admitted to a local hospital. The unfortunate incident unfolded during the cremation of a woman in Kongarahalli village.

As family members initiated the cremation and lit the pyre, a swarm of bees nesting in a nearby tree launched an aggressive attack. Chennappa fell seriously ill and tragically succumbed to the attack on the way to hospital.

Several others are currently receiving medical treatment at Holy Cross Hospital, with one individual in critical condition and under intensive care.

This unexpected tragedy has plunged the community into mourning and underscores the unpredictable nature of such natural incidents.
