BMTC debunks viral video claiming to be a stone pelting incident from Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A video depicting a group of individuals, reportedly Muslims, pelting stones at a bus was circulated widely on various social media platforms claiming that the incident had taken place in the city.
The video claimed that a BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus conductor had allegedly forced a Muslim woman to disembark from the bus.
Consequently, it was suggested that this action by the conductor led to a violent response from the group. In response to the video, the BMTC issued a statement on Sunday clarifying the situation. The transport corporation emphasised that the bus featured in the video was not affiliated with BMTC and that the entire incident had been falsely shared.
The statement from BMTC strongly asserted, "This news is highly misleading and the information within it is entirely false. Such misinformation negatively impacts the credibility of our organisation and its drivers," it said.
Further more, BMTC stated, "The bus in question has no connection to BMTC, and this incident did not take place within our network.” “It is crucial to make this clarification," the BMTC added.
