Kolar: But for the intervention of police officials, two elected representatives - Kolar Lok Sabha member S Muniswamy and Bangarpet Legislator SN Narayanaswamy would have exchanged blows in Kolar on Monday.

This situation prevailed at the Janatha Darshan organised at T Channaiah Ranga Mandira in Kolar where the District in charge Minister Byrathi Suresh was conducting the Janatha Darshan program.

Kolar MP Muniswamy arrived at the venue to present a petition to the Minister regarding forced takeover of encroached land by forest officials in Kolar district especially in Srinivsapur taluk.

Forest authorities have reportedly reclaimed hundreds of acres of encroached land from farmers after destroying all the grown up crops including mango trees in hundreds of acres of land.

Muniswamy said that it was unfortunate that the Minister was conducting the meeting having some of the land grabbers along his side. This triggered a protest from Bangarpet Legislator Narayanaswamy who was seated alongside the Minister.

An exchange of words took place between the two elected representative even as the Minister tried his best to calm both of them down.

Kolar police rushed to the dais and tried to persuade Muniswamy to leave the venue. The MP however retorted that it was a government programme and he had every right to present the memorandum.
