
B'luru shocker: Woman dies, daughter injured after pole, tree fall on them

Bengaluru: A 35-year-old woman died while her five year old daughter suffered injuries after an electric pole and a tree came crashing down on them amid heavy rains in the evening hours of Monday.
The incident took place around 7:45 pm in Wilson Garden Police Station limits in Bengaluru when the woman and her daughter were walking outside their house.
The police identified the deceased as Hemavathi. Alerted by several locals, the jurisdictional police arrived at the spot and rushed the woman to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Her daughter, Rachita, is currently undergoing treatment in Agadi Hospital in Wilson Garden. The doctors say that her condition is stable.
"A nearby CCTV camera had captured the incident. The video showed a tree and an electric pole crashing onto the road, frightening passersby who were seen running in a bid to escape from the place. The BBMP staff were called to clear the debris and extract the mother and daughter from the wreckage, following which they were rushed to hospital," sources from the spot told News Trail.
