
Three Jayanagar hotels bear brunt
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: As many as 771 people were taken into preventive custody and later most of them were released in connection with the Bengaluru Bandh on Tuesday, police told News Trail.
It was learnt that as many as three private hotels situated in Jayanagar 4th Block were vandalised by a group of protestors. CCTV footage obtained by the police showed several protestors smashing the glass window panes and pelting stones at the hotel demanding them to shut down their businesses on Tuesday morning.
The hotels were identified by the police as Nataraj Chhole Bhature, Udupi Hub and Annapoorna hotel. The footage from one Udupi Hotel showed panicked customers running out of the hotels as the miscreants barged in and created a ruckus by throwing chairs at the reception table.
According to sources, a woman sustained a minor injury during one of the incidents.
The miscreants destroyed furniture, chairs and tables along with a few television sets and utensils at the hotels before escaping on their bikes, according to sources.
