Bengaluru: In a swift action, the city traffic police (BTP) arrested a biker whose bike had 99 traffic violations with a pending traffic fine of Rs 56,000.

The biker was caught after a footage captured by a dashcam of a car was brought to the notice of the Bengaluru Traffic Police and the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Traffic and Road Safety, Alok Kumar.

The video showed the person riding in the wrong direction before crossing a road disturbing the other vehicles near Mico Layout here. A post in the X, previously twitter, shared a list of traffic offences that the biker had on his vehicle after which ADGP Alok Kumar directed the BTP to track the biker and book him for the violations.

The Mico Layout traffic police seized the bike and registered an FIR against the biker under Section 279 of the IPC as per Indian Motor Vehicle Act. The ADGP later on Wednesday appreciated south division traffic DCP and his team for nabbing the biker.

With so many people involved in various traffic violation cases in the city, the traffic police requested people to report the cases via social media if they come across such incidents.
