Rowdy-sheeter stabbed to death by rival gang

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of assailants in DJ Halli Police Station Limits here on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Syed Sohail, a resident of DJ Halli in Bengaluru. Later the police said that he was accused in six criminal cases and had a rowdy-cases opened against him at JC Nagar Police Station in the city.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a group of six to seven men called Sohail out of his house around 9:30 pm on the pretext of having a discussion with him on a certain matter.

The group took him a few meters away from his house and started attacking him with daggers. The police said that Sohail suffered severe stab injuries and was taken to hospital where he died without responding to the treatment.

Alerted, the police inspected the body and the crime spot before taking up a murder case against the accused.

It is suspected that the attack was carried out by a rival gang of the deceased. Effort is on to nab the assailants, police added.
