Apple told to pay Rs 1 lakh compensation

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: An Apple India service center was ordered to award Rs 1 lakh in compensation to a resident in the city, after the company allegedly damaged his iPhone 13 device.

The individual has been identified as Awez Khan, 30, a resident of Frazer Town. It was learnt that in October 2021, Khan had purchased an iPhone 13 that came with a one-year warranty.

A few months later, he began having problems with the speaker and the battery of the device. He sought assistance at the Indiranagar service centre in August 2022.

Khan was informed that the problem could be resolved and that he would receive his phone back in a week.

Soon, he got a call inviting him to pick up his now-functioning iPhone, but that didn't work long.
