K V Gowtham would be the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president of Bengaluru Central District Congress Committee (DCC).

Bengaluru East DCC would be headed by Uday Kumar. Hanumantharayappa is now the president of Bengaluru West DCC. Bengaluru North DCC would be headed by Abdul Wajid and O Manjunath would handle Bengaluru South.

AICC general secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal made the announcement.

“Honourable Congress president (Mallikarjun Kharge) has approved the proposal for reorganising Bangalore City into five District Congress Committees, and also the appointment of presidents of these DCCs in the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, as follows, with immediate effect,” he said.

The idea behind the reorganization is that Bengaluru city is huge and populous and the five divisions were necessary for a party for oversee, especially since Lok Sabha elections are due next year.
