Accused from Delhi taken into custody by Karnataka SIT in bitcoin scam case

Bengaluru: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Kar nataka police probing the alleged Bitcoin scam, picked up a person from Delhi, who is said to have received illegal funds from the hacker Srikrishna Ramesh alias Sriki.

The person was identified as Harwinder Singh, who was earlier named as an accused in a moneylaundering case by the Enforcement Directorate after he allegedly received funds of Rs 60 lakh.

It was suspected that the funds had been stolen from the state government's e-procurement portal in 2019. The Karnataka CID, which investigated the eprocurement cell hacking, filed a chargesheet against Sriki and 11 others in December 2021 but did not name Singh as an accused.

However, a parallel money-laundering investigation by the ED, in which a charge sheet was filed this year, named Singh among the 19 accused.
