Bengaluru: The anticipation surrounding Tamil legend Rajinikanth's 170th film reached fever pitch this week as Lyca Productions announced the project and commenced filming.
The movie, yet to be titled, is making headlines thanks to its stellar ensemble cast and intriguing plotline.
On Wednesday, the shooting for Rajinikanth's latest venture got underway, marking a significant moment for fans and the Indian film industry as a whole.
The first look posters of the film were unveiled, showcasing a star-studded lineup that includes not only Rajinikanth but also legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan.
In the striking posters, Rajinikanth was seen donning a sleek black suit, a black shirt, and stylish black sunglasses, exuding his trademark charisma.
The posters have left fans eager to see these talented actors come together on the silver screen. One of the most exciting aspects of the film is the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after 32 years.
Their last collaboration was in the Hindi film "Hum" in 1991, making this upcoming project a historic moment in Indian cinema. While they did not share the screen during their previous venture, the prospect of their on-screen chemistry has already generated buzz.
This much-anticipated film was first announced back in March, sparking excitement among fans of both Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. The film will be directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for his work on "Jai Bhim."
Rajinikanth is rumored to play the role of a retired police officer, and the plot is said to revolve around a gripping tale of a fake encounter.
Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, who previously collaborated with Rajinikanth on projects like "Petta," "Darbar," and "Jailer," will once again lend his musical talents to the film. While the movie's title remains under wraps, it is tentatively referred to as "Thalaivar 170."
The project kicked off with a pooja ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram. Lyca Productions maintained a high level of secrecy, as no cameras were allowed at the ceremony.
Official images were exclusively released by the production company, heightening the intrigue surrounding this landmark film.
With the iconic Rajinikanth-Amitabh Bachchan duo set to grace the screen once more, this cinematic masterpiece promises to be a captivating addition to the careers of both legends.
