Nothing in Bigg Boss is predetermined: Kichcha Sudeep

Bengaluru: Bigg Boss Kannada gets into its tenth season on Sunday becoming the longest running reality television show in the language.

It has also had an OTT and mini-series which also makes it the most prolific. The show has also become synonymous with the host; Sandalwood star Kichcha Sudeep as has the Hindi version with Salman Khan.

Speaking on the sidelines of promoting the new season, Sudeep cleared many of the misconceptions that have continued to be attendant to it. For one, Sudeep stressed that the show is not scripted.

“What I tell the contestants is spontaneous. I do watch the episodes of the week before hosting the weekend show. I know what has transpired inside. That is the preparation I need. But the decisions I make are also instantaneous. They cannot be pre-determined,” the star said.

The actor revealed that he too had misconceptions about some of the contestants.

“A few times I would wonder why some of these contestants were chosen. But after watching them in the house for a few days, my opinion has changed. People vote based on what the contestants do and it cannot be more democratic than that,” he said.

About his own commitment to the show, the actor recalled that he wanted to quit after Season 6.

“I had made up my mind. But the good folks in the channel convinced me that it would become more exciting. I will do this as long as I enjoy doing it,” he said.

A new house for the contest has come up near the Big Banyan Tree near Bengaluru. It is touted as the biggest Bigg Boss house in India.

Though names of the new season’s contestants haven't been revealed, names of cricketer Vinay Kumar, vlogger Dr.Bro, actors Prakash Tamminadu, Namrata Gowda and Megha Shetty are doing the rounds.

“Even I do not know who the contestants are. It is kept a secret. During the show, I do not know who has been eliminated until it is time for the announcement. So every name you say is guesswork,” Sudeep said.

This season, 16 to 18 contestants are expected to be part of the show. Season 9 saw the return of a few contestants from the earlier seasons.

Sources say a couple of contestants from earlier seasons could be part of Season 10 as well.
