Drinking water tragedy: Survivors to get jobs, housing

Chitradurga: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the Kavadigarhatti village in Chitradurga district where six people had died after drinking contaminated water and assured the survivors of the families, employment, housing and other aid.
“The government will take responsibility of the affected families. We will also provide employment to the members of these families and build them houses as well. It is our duty to provide clean drinking water. Immediately after the incident, a clear instruction was given to the local MLAs, District Ministers and Deputy Commissioner and concerned officials. The government has given compensation of 10 lakhs immediately,” Siddaramaiah said, adding that three acres of land would also be provided to them.
The CM also promised Rs 4 crore in grants for the development of the village.
