Beneficiaries wait as ‘technical issues’ plague Gruha Lakshmi

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that the State government was in the process of sorting out “technical issues” causing a delay in the disbursal of cash to women under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme.

Shivakumar said that the issue was cash not reaching the bank accounts of some of the beneficiaries. Under the scheme, women are provided with an allowance of Rs 2,000 directly to their bank accounts.

Women whose husbands are taxpayers don’t qualify for the Gruha Laxmi Yojane.

“The funds have reached 88 per cent of the women. The rest of the applicants have been facing some issues with their bank accounts. We will sort out this problem soon,” Shivakumar said.
