Civil contractor arrested for sexual harassment

Bengaluru: A civil contractor from Bantwal was arrested by the city's Cubbon Park police for allegedly sexually harassing a 23-year-old student here.

According to sources from the police, the incident had taken place near Church Street on October 7 when the accused identified as Madhusudhan had come to Bengaluru.

A complaint filed by the victim stated that she was waiting for a cab outside an eatery around 8:30 pm when the accused allegedly touched her inappropriately while passing through the road. Immediately, the victim reported the matter to the jurisdictional police.

Taking the matter seriously, the police identified the accused through the visuals caught on CCTVs and tracked him to Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada district.
