Citizens panic after receiving 'Emergency Message' on mobile

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A huge number of mobile users in the city were startled by alarming messages appearing on their phones on Thursday.

Several citizens panicked and started calling their friends and relatives to find out if they had received a similar alert. Many Netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to narrate their experience of receiving this unusual text alert message.

However, they heaved a sigh of relief knowing that the message was indeed sent by the National Disaster Management Authority of India and the Department of Telecommunication as a part of a testing exercise.
