Ektara to host Jagannath temple-theme Dasara fest
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Bengaluru is gearing up for Dasara and Navratri as the Ektara Socio-Cultural organisation has exciting events planned. The event, scheduled to take place at the ACS Engineering College in Kengeri, will feature a prototype of the iconic Somnath Temple in Gujarat.
The structure is said to be 40 feet tall and 60 feet in length. "This structure has been crafted by rural artists in Bengal over a month," said Ankur Sarkar, Managing Trustee of the Ektara Socio-Cultural Organisation.
The event, which begins on October 19th, will be inaugurated by former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. The following day, H.K. Patil, Minister of Law, Parliamentary Affairs, Legislations, and Tourism of Karnataka, will be the chief guest.
The event, running until October 23, will also feature a 15-foot-tall idol of Durga made entirely from ecofriendly materials.
Rock bands, singers, and dancers are set to dazzle the event, and a Dandiya night on the last day will create a memorable experience.
