AAP slams State govt over power cuts, claims Gruha Jyoti failed

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) Karnataka unit on Wednesday took aim at the State government over power cuts, alleging that their Gruha Jyoti scheme had failed.

Under the Gruha Jyoti, under 200 units of electricity is given free of cost to consumers. AAP state Organizing Secretary BT Naganna said: “The Congress government's Gruha Jyoti scheme to provide free electricity has failed. Gruha Jyoti became Grahana Jyoti now.”

He was playing on the words Gruha, which is Kannada for home while Grahana is eclipse.

“The Congress, which had promised free electricity before the elections, has put the farmers of the state in trouble for the Griha Jyoti scheme," he added.
