Woman accuses former boyfriend of sexual assault

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A 26-year-old woman has accused her former boyfriend of physical and sexual assault in the city. The police said that the accused is currently on the run.

The victim is a software engineer and a resident of an apartment in Doddakannelli. According to the complaint, the victim was in love with the accused for the last two years.

However when the accused started harassing her mentally and physically, the victim claimed to have called off their relationship a few months ago. She alleged that the accused began troubling her by calling her over the phone and sending messages to her everyday.

"On October 8, he (the accused) allegedly barged into the house of the victim and assaulted her. He pushed her on the bed, gagged her and tried to abuse her," the complaint stated.

The complaint further mentioned that the accused threatened her not to avoid his calls and messages before leaving the place. Mahadevapura Police have taken up a case and are probing the matter. Further details awaited.
