Bengaluru: In a heartwarming turn of events, the rooster featured in the upcoming comedy drama "Na Kolike Ranga" has been granted a reprieve from a typical fate by the film's production team.
Actor, 'Master' Anand, showed immense dedication to ensuring that this particular chicken named Sukku Raja would not end up on someone's plate.
"I became very close to Sukku Raja, and it became my pet during the course of shooting the film. On the sets, it would even eat out of my plate. Since I had many scenes together with the rooster, I asked the director to let me handle it even when not shooting. It became very obedient and would listen to commands just like a pet dog," Anand fondly recalled.
Having developed a strong bond with Sukku Raja, Anand went one step further, insisting that the rooster be allowed to live out its natural life, free from the threat of being butchered.
He remarked, "I guess nobody knows the full age to which chickens and sheep can grow because we never allow them to. But Sukku Raja will die a natural death. The rooster now lives freely in the restaurant owned by the producer. Nobody hurts him." Master Anand, as he is popularly known, is currently in the spotlight for his upcoming movie, "Na Kolikke Ranga," slated for release on November 10.
Directed by Mahesh Goravale and produced by ST Somashekar under the banner of Durganjaneya Movies, the film also stars Rajeshwari, Bhavya, Honnavalli Krishna, Biradhar Shakeela, and Rockline Sudhakar.
The film's trailer, released earlier this week, has received a positive response from viewers. The music for the film is composed by Raju Emmiganur, with cinematography by Dhanapal and editing by Vishwa. Master Anand, who began his career as a child artist and later achieved fame as a director of films and television serials, is also a well-known television host.
With "Na Kolikke Ranga," he is endeavoring to reclaim his status as a popular actor in the industry.
