Nithari killings: Allahabad HC acquits Koli, Pandher
Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court acquitted Surendra Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher in the infamous Nithari serial killings case in Noida for lack of evidence.
Both had been sentenced to death for rape and murder. 19 cases had been lodged against businessman Pandher and his domestic help Koli in 2007.
The killings came to light with the discovery of skeletal remains of eight kids from the drain behind Pandher's house in Nithari, Noida. Meanwhile, Jhabbu Lal and Sunita Devi, who lost their daughter, expressed sadness over the judgment."
This is not right. When someone killing children gets acquitted, imagine what punishment will those get who kill just one or two people," Lal said. (PTI)
