Bengaluru: In yet another clash during the Ganesha procession, a 45-year-old woman was injured by an machete-wielding assailant who mistook her to be his rival in the city.
The Subramanyanagar police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused identified as Abhigowda and his friends involved in the incident.
It was said that there was a clash between Abhigowda and another youth identified as Rakesh in the area over installing a Ganesha idol in the area for a few days.
Abhigowda, who was enraged over this, decided to confront Rakesh and went to Gayathrinagar around 11 pm on Sunday along with his friends. However he mistook another house for Rakesh's and started banging on the door maniacally using a machete.
Disturbed by the noise, the house owner, identified as Veena, attempted to open the door and suffered an injury by the machete on her arm. The accused and his friends fled from the spot.
The woman later approached the jurisdictional police and filed a complaint against the accused.
