IKEA enhances accessibility for metro users with new foot-bridge

Bengaluru: Swedish retail giant IKEA has introduced a dedicated foot-over bridge at Nagasandra metro station in Bengaluru, offering direct access to its store.

This initiative aims to provide convenience and safety for customers commuting from the IT hub and beyond, as approximately one-third of store visitors use the metro.

The bridge is set to streamline the journey between Nagasandra Metro station and the IKEA outlet, ensuring a comfortable experience. With the Purple Line now operational, IKEA anticipates an influx of customers from East Bengaluru.

The Nagasandra Bridge's construction began in April and was completed within six months.

Last year, the store's launch in Nagasandra, one of the world's largest IKEA outlets, attracted substantial footfall, aligning with the company's goal of welcoming nearly five million visitors annually through its Rs 3,000 crore investment in Karnataka.
