Head constable injured

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A habitual offender was arrested by the police on Wednesday morning after he allegedly attacked a Head Constable near Shivajinagar Police Station limits.

Following directives, a Head Constable Syed Samiullah, attached to Central Crime Branch (CCB), Organised Crime Wing, was sent to nab an accused near Kambal Posh Dargah in Shivajinagar.

The police had received credible information regarding an accused, Hasan Khan, who had been evading arrest for several months. It was claimed that he was allegedly involved in various criminal activities in Bengaluru and other districts in the state.

As the Head Constable spotted Khan near a goods auto stand, he approached him. Shocked at the sight of the police, Khan pulled out a knife and attacked the constable in a bid to flee from the spot.

However, he was nabbed by the other policemen and handed over to the Shivajinagar police. An attempt-to-murder case has been registered.
