Addressing safety concerns: Road safety measures on Nice Rd
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: Talaghattapura's Southern Division Traffic Police have been grappling with a disconcerting surge in road accidents over the last three years, all occurring within a mere 500-meter stretch on NICE Road.
These accidents have had grave consequences, resulting in 11 fatalities and injuring 9 individuals. This specific location, now termed the "Accident Black Spot," has raised serious safety concerns, prompting a thorough investigation into the root causes behind these troubling accident rates.
Under the leadership of M.N. Anucheth, IPS, Commissioner of Police, the Traffic Police Department has launched a series of measures to mitigate the risks and enhance road safety.
These include elevating the road by 4 meters to improve visibility, installing high-mast lights for enhanced nighttime visibility, deploying CCTV cameras for continuous monitoring, placing speedometers to discourage reckless driving, and introducing solar-powered lights for sustainable and well-lit road conditions.
These improvements are aligned with traffic regulations and aim to ensure safer and more efficient vehicular movement.
Supported by the Bengaluru City Mayor and the Traffic Division Commissioner, these enhancements promise a safer and more secure computing environment for residents and travellers in Talaghattapura.
