Bengaluru: A banner has appeared outside a mosque in Shikaripalya locality of Bengaluru, calling for the boycott of Israeli products. The name of the mosque is Masjid-E-Noor and it is also known as Noorani masjid.
The image read “boycott Israel” and “save Palestine”. The banner said that to weaken a country, one should target their economy.
This has prompted right wing individuals in Shikaripalya to demand that Home Minister G Parameshwara and Minister for Information Technology and BioTechnology (IT-BT) Priyank Kharge take strict action against those who put up the banner.
However, they didn’t specify which law the banner breached. The development comes in the backdrop of Hamas’ raids into southern Israel on October 7 in which they took scores of hostages.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by launching air strikes on Gaza that have killed over 4,000 people, most of whom are civilians.
