Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited his predecessor and BJP bigwig Basavaraj Bommai at Fortis Hospital in Bengaluru on Saturday as the latter recovered from heart surgery.
“I went to Fortis Hospital on Bannerghatta Road today to inquire about the health of former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and wished him a speedy recovery,” Siddaramaiah said.
Fortis Hospital released an official statement on the day confirming that Bmmai had been recovering well from a Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) surgery, averting a critical health ordeal.
He had undergone some preliminary investigations that raised suspicion of multiple blockages in his heart. A team led by Dr Vivek Jawali, Chairman of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Sciences, along with experienced cardiac surgeons and anaesthetists conducted the procedure.
It involved the placement of five grafts on the beating heart addressing all obstructed coronary arteries.
“Thanks to all those who were concerned about my health and sent well wishes, I'm in good health now and have almost recovered,” Bommai said.
