Bengaluru: Panic ensued in Kothanur as two parked two-wheelers in front of a residence were set on fire by unidentified culprits here.

The victim's family has approached the police and accused their neighbours of igniting the fire due to an old feud. A case has been registered at Kothanur Police Station.

It was alleged that on the night of October 23, a family was awakened by sirens and discovered their two motorcycles in flames. Neighbours rushed out to extinguish the fire, but the two bikes had already been reduced to ashes.

The motorcycles belonged to a woman named Pushpa and her son. Pushpa lodged a complaint with Kothanur Police on Monday, accusing her neighbour Gowramma and her son Nanjunda Babu of destroying their two-wheelers over an old animosity.

According to the FIR, Pushpa was bitten by Gowramma's Rottweiler dog and hospitalised in January of this year. Allegedly, Gowramma had promised to cover the medical expenses but failed to pay the money, leading to a case being registered at Kothanur Police Station.

Pushpa stated in her complaint that since then, Gowramma's family had been unnecessarily engaging in conflicts with her family. The FIR also mentions that Pusha operated a chit-fund business, and Gowramma had invested in it.

On Sunday, Gowramma allegedly demanded her money back, and Pushpa claimed to have used the funds for her dog bite treatment, requesting additional time. The matter is being investigated by the jurisdictional police.
