B'luru student loses phone,ends up in bar after blackmail

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A student from a group who had come to the city for their entrance exams, lost his mobile phone which was picked up by two middle-aged men.

Initially, the group of students thought it was a prank, but it turned out to be real.

The men demanded money or drinks to return the phone. Despite explaining their financial constraints, the demand persisted.

The students were asked to meet at a bar to settle the matter. The student group shared their experience on Reddit where they also alleged that when they requested help from the police, they did not get any favourable response.

With no help coming from the cops, the group decided to confront the men in the bar. Inside the bar they found two men in their 40s50s, well-known in the bar and adjoining area.

After some initial tension, the men accepted the students' offer of rupees 200 and even offered them drinks, before returning the mobile handset.
