MHA grants Z+ security cover to ex-CM BSY
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a recent development, the Union Home Ministry has decided to grant senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa 'Z' plus security cover.
This enhanced security arrangement will involve the deployment of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, and it will be exclusively implemented within the state of Karnataka.
The decision was prompted by information gleaned from an Intelligence Bureau threat assessment report, which was subsequently conveyed to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the report, there are credible concerns about potential threats to Yediyurappa's safety from extremist groups operating within Karnataka.
In light of this assessment, CRPF personnel will be responsible for ensuring his security during all his travels within Karnataka.
