Now, forest officer under scanner over tiger nail locket

Chikkamagaluru, NT Bureau: A Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO) deployed in the Kalasa range of Chikkamagaluru district has come under the scanner as images of him allegedly wearing a tiger nail pendant have been doing the rounds on social media.

A complaint was filed against the DRFO M Darshan by activists Suprit and Abdul Khader. Upon getting a written complaint, forest department higher-ups have reportedly asked Darshan to submit the tiger nail.

Forensic tests will be run on the nail to determine whether it is real or not and then it will be decided if the officer should be punished. Minister for Forest Eshwar Khandre has taken cognizance of such cases that have come to the fore and held a meeting with senior officials in Bengaluru to discuss the issue.

So far, Kannada actors Darshan, Jaggesh, JD(S) leader Nikhil Kumaraswamy, producer Venkatesh have all been accused of wearing a pendant imbued with a tiger nail.

Darshan is also reportedly being liked to astrologer Vinay Guruji whose picture sitting on a tiger skin is doing the rounds on social media. However, the astrologer alleged that he had permission from the authorities.
