BBMP officers, staff assn plan protest over unfilled posts

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Officers and Staff Association are gearing up for a protest against the government, citing various grievances, including the failure to fill vacant positions.

In a preparatory meeting held at the BBMP headquarters on Thursday, the association discussed the protest's scheduling and specifics.

According to the association, promotions have been granted to officers in the commissioner and revenue official ranks, but they have not been assigned postings, resulting in delayed promotions for junior officers.

The association further asserted that appointments have been mishandled, with a staggering 6,414 vacant positions remaining unfilled.

This staffing shortage has intensified the workload on existing personnel and resulted in a deficient administrative system, the association contended.
