
Mercury dips to 13 degrees Celsius in Vijayapura

Bengaluru: India Meteorological Department (IMD) disclosed that Vijayapura city on Friday recorded minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the plains of Karnataka.
It is to be noted that the minimum temperature tends to be lower in the hilly areas of the state.
Low temperatures are being recorded late at night and early in the morning even as IMD is yet to declare the onset of winter. However, Karwar city recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius in the state.
The weather department also revealed that minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by two degrees Celsius in a few places over coastal Karnataka and north Karnataka and above normal by two degrees Celsius in a few places over South Karnataka.
