BMTC floats tenders for 320 E-AC buses

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) have invited bids to 'procure, operate and maintain' 320 electric airconditioned (AC) buses.

These buses which will have a low floor of 400mm will be leased on Gross Cost Contract (GCC). Dates for technical and financial proposals have been announced on November 3 and 9.

This announcement comes after the state government gave the green light to induct electric AC buses into the fleet. These buses will replace the “Vayu Vajra” Volvo buses which currently ply to the Kempegowda International Airport.
