Bengaluru: Forest department officials conducted an inspection at Cadenza Apartments in Kudlu Gate, near Electronic City, on Monday in response to a leopard sighting within the apartment complex's parking area.

This marks the second instance of a wild animal being spotted within the city limits this month. CCTV footage captured the leopard's presence in the parking lot and the first floor of one of the apartment blocks at Cadenza.

The forest department has initiated efforts to safely capture the leopard. In their pursuit, officials have employed the use of drones to survey nearby areas.

Chief Conservator of Forests, SS Lingara, postulated that the leopard may be residing in a vacant space near the apartment complex.

"We received the video of the leopard on Oct 27, revealing its presence within the apartment premises. There is a sizable empty area adjacent to the apartment where the leopard is believed to be staying. We have assembled teams and are deploying cages to effectuate its capture."

Earlier, reports from Saturday had initially located the leopard near Whitefield; however, forest department officials later clarified that it was spotted near Singasandra, close to Electronic City.

The deployment of forest department personnel to the area came two days after residents reported leopard sightings and expressed their concerns.
