15,000 blooms at Mysuru flower show

Mysuru: Mysureans are all set to relish the nine day annual mega flower show organised by Mysuru Palace board, which will begin at the palace premises on Saturday.
Besides entertaining and treating tourists during Christmas and new year, the Palace board will offer tributes to actor Puneeth Rajkumar with a music concert by Vijayprakash, and to former CDS late Bipin Rawat with his lifesize floral model.
There will be 15,000 flower pots with 32 varieties of flowers on display at the show with as many as 4 lakh flowers including roses, chrysanthemums, orchids and other flowers being used. A mega floral model of Sri Rama Mandir which will be 70 feet high, 32 feet wide and 13 feet long, floral models of Goddess Chamundeshwari, Nandi, Mahishasura and Sri Jayachamaraja Wadiyar are some of the other attractions.
To mark the 75th year of independence, a model depicting Gandhiji’s Quit India movement will also be displayed.The Palace board is also hosting a doll show on various themes, a collection of photographs of Wadiyars, videos depicting Dasara and a documentary on Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
On Sunday there will be a music concert by Ajay Wariyar, Sri Harsha, Vyasaraj, Ankitha Kundu, Sunitha Jogi, Divya Ramachandra and others. On Monday evening, to mark the 75th year of Independence, there will be a music concert by Dr Vidyabhushan and live painting by national award winner, Ganjeefa Raghupathi Bhat.
