No future for those who studied in Kannada medium is baseless: Minister
Udupi, NT Bureau: It was Mahatma Gandhi's dream that provincial languages should be given priority in our country, which is rich in various cultures and languages.
He also wished for education to be provided in the mother tongue and for local languages to be used in governance.
Accordingly, our government is prepared to implement state administration and education in Kannada seamlessly, stated Lakshmi R Hebbalkar, Minister of Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and District Incharge Minister.
Speaking after hoisting the flag on Wednesday, the Minister emphasized that the fear that those who studied in Kannada medium will not prosper is groundless.
She cited examples of Sir M Visvesvaraya, who studied in Kannada schools, and Prof. CNR Rao, who have achieved international recognition and acclaim.
