Bengaluru: Fixing of potholes, clearing of encroached footpaths and extending Rajakaluves (storm water drains)in the Mahadevapura zone was the agenda of a "coordination meeting" headed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday.

Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath, who held this meeting, instructed officials to close roadblocks only on a priority basis. They were also instructed to fix potholes on arterial and sub-arterial roads first, then the ward roads.

The Bengaluru Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) and Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) were instructed to dig roads, only when the civic body permits, failing which the department would attract a fine.

Issuance of engineering work's tenders needs to be promptly started. The Assistant Director of City Planning Department conducted a joint inspection to see if unauthorized buildings were being constructed in the respective wards and instructed the officials to take disciplinary action against those concerned if unauthorized buildings were found to be being constructed.
