KBJNL Managing Director fired

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: After being accused of illegal construction of Narayanapura Left Bank Canal (NLBC), Krishna Bhagya Jala Nigam's (KBJNL) Managing Director B S Shivakumar has been suspended.

The NLBC, which was renovated in January this year, saw its construction marred by irregularities and corruption charges.

It was alleged that the 95km modernisation work was not properly done and there was Illegality in price lists and in the measurement books. A committee led by S B Siddagangapa in June 2022, found that the bills were paid to the contractor before a review report.

This has caused huge losses to the state exchequer. CM Siddaramaiah expressed his disappointment against Shivakumar.
