Bengaluru to receive onions at Rs 25 amidst price surge
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In response to the sharp increase in onion prices, the government has tapped into its buffer stock, offering onions at a heavily discounted rate of Rs 25 per kilogram in several cities, including Bengaluru.
To counter the surge, the government has adopted a range of measures, such as releasing onions from its buffer stock and increasing imports. Mobile vans, operated by the NCCF and NAFED will distribute subsidized onions.
