Siddu, ministers slam HDK over 'Shivakumar for CM' comment

Mysuru, NT Bureau: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday hit back against JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy for suggesting that his party’s 19 MLAs would pledge their support to the State government if Deputy CM DK Shivakumar were to become the head of government.

Siddaramaiah told mediapersons that he was impressed that Kumaraswamy using sarcasm was surprising.

“He said it sarcastically,” he said.

“The fact that Kumaraswamy is capable of speaking sarcastically makes me happy,” he added.

The CM pointed out that Shivakumar had advised Kumaraswamy to leave the NDA before lending him support. Industries Minister MB Patil said: “I don’t know what he (Kumaraswamy) meant but maybe he is trying to create confusion in our ranks.”

Responding to sarcasm with sarcasm of his own, Home Minister G Parameshwara said: “If Kumaraswamy, who has entered into an alliance with the BJP comes out of it and lends support to us, then it is good."
