'Deepfake' video goes viral, minister steps in

New Delhi, NT Bureau: A recent viral video appeared to feature Rashmika Mandanna, but it was a deepfake, merging her face with that of Instagram influencer Zara Patel.

This prompted Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan to advocate legal action. Expressing her distress, Rashmika shared her concerns on social media, emphasising how such content could harm young individuals.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar called on social media platforms to be responsibile in combatting deepfakes.
