Now, listen to bus routes through garbage vehicles!

Bengaluru: Every morning, city residents holding buckets of waste, expect a normal interaction with a garbage vehicle- give the waste, get the bucket back and so on.

Now, one would get to know which buses pass through their locality! In a move to improve awareness on availability of metro feeder buses, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) have collaborated with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) wherein metro routes are announced on a speaker phone to residents in an area.

In a post on X (previously twitter) the BMTC has shared two video clips of speaker phones attached to the vehicle dictating Metro feeder routes, including the code.

From the places being announced, it can be concluded that the collaboration had its pilot in JP Nagar.

This move fetched mixed responses. A user on X questioned the choice of mode of announcement. A few were misguided by the captions and the video.

This move is the first where garbage collecting vehicles are used to spread awareness on bus availability in a few areas.
