K'taka cop strangles wife after birth of first child

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In a bitter turn of events, a police constable from Chamarajanagara Police Station named Kishore is accused of killing his 23-year-old wife Pratibha, eleven days after the birth of their first child.

Their marriage took place last year. It is alleged that the reason behind their tussle was Kishore's doubts about Pratibha taking care of his parents.

The cop had visited his in-laws in Kolathur Village in Hosakote, where Pratibha stayed after the child's birth.

Soon after an argument, the accused allegedly strangled her to death and tried to portray the murder as suicide, by hanging her onto a ceiling fan.

The father of the victim, Subramani claimed that his daughter was strangled with a pillow. He also claimed to have witnessed the hanging of her body and seeing Kishore escape.
