Gold heist valued at Rs 84 lakh busted
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The Central Division of the Sampangiramnagar Police Department has apprehended an individual involved in theft and fraud at a gold merchant's residence.
The accused, Piryaadi Ramlaal, was found in possession of 1399 grams of gold jewellery and solid gold valued at 84 lakhs.
On October 25, Piryaadi Ramlaal appeared at the police station, where he admitted to engaging in gold transactions with another individual, Mohan Lal. He had given 2931 grams of gold jewellery to Mohan Lal and had come to discuss this matter at his residence.
While waiting for Mohan Lal to arrive, he stole 155 grams of gold rings placed in the house's deity cabinet. This theft was reported, and it is now part of the case under the jurisdiction of the Sampangiramanagara Police Station.
The police officers, under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shekhar T., and the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police of Halasuru Gate Subdivision, Shivananda Chalavadi, were successful in apprehending the accused.
