BBMP asks property owners to pay tax dues by Nov 30

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has asked property owners with tax dues in the city, to pay up by November 30.

Recently the BBMP started issuing notices to over 3.5 lakh property owners who have not paid up their taxes. The notices are being sent on their registered mobile phones through SMS and WhatsApp.

To ease the process, a QR code is also being sent with the mobile phone notices to enable payment of tax dues. So far, the Palike officials have visited 15,000 houses to conduct checks.

A physical notice will also be issued and action will be taken against the defaulting property owners, the BBMP said. The civic body further warned that those who do not reply or pay up the taxes will face action.
