
B'luru shortlisted for global city competition

Bengaluru: Bengaluru is among nine other cities from different parts of the world, picked out for Toyota Mobility Foundation's "Innovation in City Mobility." on Friday.
The global mobility challenge aims to help cities prepare for the future by transforming the lives of millions of people. 150 cities from 46 countries were assessed, based on the openness to innovation.
The press release further describes Bengaluru as a fast growing but congested city.
"The ever-expanding city is looking for innovative ways to enhance road safety by crowdsourcing the identification of road safety concerns such as faulty traffic signals and accident-prone areas," the press release added.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has expressed its satisfaction in getting shortlisted.
Toyota Mobility Foundation will help in the modernization of the traffic system in Bengaluru for the next 5 years as per Brand Bangalore - Sugam Sanchar Bangalore report for traffic management, modernization of infrastructure, prevention of accidents.
