Parameshwara for Metro extension to Tumakuru

Tumakuru, NT Bureau: Home Minister and Tumakuru districtin-charge minister G Parameshwara on Saturday batted for the Metro Green Line to be extended up to Tumakuru city.

The comments came in the backdrop of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar disclosing on Friday that he had ordered Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to undertake a survey prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) on the Purple Line being extended to Bidadi town in his native Ramanagara district.

“If the (purple) line is extended up to Bidadi, Bengaluru will grow further. If it is extended up to Tumakuru, Benagluru will grow even further,” he said, citing subway trains in London and New York as examples.
