Inmate runs prostitution racket from prison, 4 arrested

Bengaluru: Bursting yet another prostitution racket, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested a gang of four people including an undertrial prisoner lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison here.
According to the police, a prisoner identified as Manjunath alias Sanju, was imprisoned after he was arrested by Sadduguntepalya Police for allegedly being involved in criminal activities.
However, the cops were shocked when they found that he had been allegedly running prostitute racket from the jail.
Apart from Manjunath, his accomplices Arun, Raghavendra and Darshan have also been arrested in the prostitution racket, sources said. It was learnt that Manjunath used to connect with clients through an app while in jail.
With the help of his accomplices, he allegedly lured young women from other states by promising high paying jobs, to engage in the business and brought them to Bengaluru and kept them in a rented house in Hulimavu.
Earlier, Manjunath was arrested by the Sadduguntepalya police under the same charge of keeping girls in the same house for the past few months. Now, it was found that Manjunath was continuing his illegal activities even from inside the jail.
He used to make WhatsApp calls and contact the customers and send the location of the house where the young women were accommodated by him.
The police said that he was getting money from customers through Google Pay. The other accused who were caught were also paid in the form of commission
